Feeling tropical?
Why do we love the Philippines? So many reasons! It’s beautiful, it can be budget friendly, it’s easy to get around, the people are lovely, it feels adventurous without losing modern comforts, it’s easy to feel like you are off the beaten path.
And that’s not even mentioning the many awesome beaches or the yummy seafood. Or the fact that so many people speak English.
A country that consists mainly of hundreds or even thousands of islands! Tropical islands with cheerful people, delicious fruit, and beautiful, versatile nature.
When to visit
Philippines has two seasons: wet season and dry season.
The most useful tip is to avoid travelling during the months of August to October.
What to see?
Local attractions: These are our favourite places and hidden gems throughout Philippines.
How about the accommodation?
From simple and basic to luxury and service, the country has it all!
Depending on your budget you will be able to find many options in the main cities with fewer as you start focusing on smaller villages or towns.
We would always recommend something in between. This will give you a bigger chance to interact with locals.
ways to get around
Here’s how to navigate the Pearl of the Orient with no problems!
Buses
Dominate, but very slow.
Jeepneys
Interestingly, they are old US-military jeeps converted into buses! Brightly decorated, extremely cheap, but sometimes crowded.
MOTORBIKE TAXIS
Caught in traffic? No problem. Motorbike taxis are easiest way to penetrate the Philippines’ heavy traffic.
Regular taxis
They’ll get stuck in traffic more but are cooler, cleaner, more comfortable, more private, and yet still incredibly cheap.
