Overview
Oh Africa!

From rainforests, semi arid grasslands, moorlands, rocky desert landscapes, you will be living four seasons in just seven days! Your camps sites will vary each day, but you will always be sleeping under the stars, waking up for beautiful sunrises and by the 3 rd day, camping next to beds of clouds all around you.
The biggest part of why we appreciate this mountain so much is because of the people. The culture and spirit of the Tanzanian mountaineers will make you love this expedition even more. FAQ
What’s special about Kilimanjaro?
With an African heartbeat, this is the tallest stand-alone mountain in the world, one of the 7 highest summits and not to mention one of our favorite expeditions!
An experience like no other, hiking Mount Kilimanjaro was never about reaching the summit only. It was about the journey, the many stories that you will hear in between, and how only seven days can change many people’s future.
It also has a very high success rate!
Is it safe?
It is very safe. Our local partners make sure that we have everything we need, they lead us through the right path, and all lead guides have the required training to ensure your medical safety.
Do we need any cash?
Everything is covered in terms of accommodation, all the meals, and transportation. The cash that you will need is gratuities for the guides and porters on the last day of the hike and any souvenir shopping once you finish the hike.
Do I need any vaccines?
Yes, you do. Yellow Fever, Typhoid and some home countries would recommend that you take Hepatitis A and B. The best way is to go to your local hospitals or clinics, and they will have the list of the recommended vaccines.
Are we fit enough to go? Will I be able to do it?
Kilimanjaro requires a high fitness level with two to three months of training depending on how active you generally are. Having both endurance and stamina as a goal, a cardio based training along with focusing on strengthening certain muscles is all you need for the mountain.
So yes, you can definitely do it.
How do we prepare for summiting the roof of Africa?
Being mentally, physically and emotionally prepared for that 7 day hiking challenge that will impact you in so many ways is something we have been trained to do for 6 years now!
A certain physical fitness is required as a minimum, but the more you train, the better! You will need the correct set of gear and clothes with you. And most importantly, you need to be ready mentally and emotionally as you will be far out of your comfort zone for 7 days. And believe us, you will enjoy and laugh on every bit of it.
How long will we be walking every day?
The most question we get during the climb is “how much longer?”. And we always advice that this should be the last thing you think about during your hike! Instead, try to enjoy the diverse scenery that you get every day and walk in a pace that is comfortable for you and is recommended by the guides.
It takes an average of 8 to 10 hours of walking every day except for the summit night which is longer. The hours per day can change based on overall fitness of the group, the weather during the climb, and the pace that the guides set for the whole group.
Is it a technical climb?
No technical experience is required for the hike. You will be able to rent walking hiking poles once you reach to aid you through the climb.
I felt that I could not complete the climb, what should I do?
The ultimate goal of our guides is to make sure that you reach Kilimanjaro, keeping your safety the utmost priority. The team is trained to diagnose any symptoms that you might have from altitude or fatigue and make any arrangements necessary. Each hiker will also be insured during the seven day climb for any evacuation procedure needed.
What are the kind of clothes that I need to take?
A packing list will be sent as soon as you confirm your participation in the trip. This will include clothes, bags, footwear, and some accessories. The rest of the camping equipment will be provided by us.
How’s the food in the mountain?
Any dietary restriction will be catered for. As for our daily menu, it will be a balanced diet, with a lot of carbs and protein. And yes, it will taste good, don’t worry!
Is it shared accommodation? Can I have single occupancy?
The default is you sharing a room and a tent with someone. If you wish to have single occupancy, this can be provided for the tent. As for the accommodation prior and after the hike, it will depend on availability.
How’s the bathroom situation?
A private camp bathroom will be available at each camp site as soon as you arrive. Along the way, you will be one with the nature with some of the best views possible.
