What to expect
A journey of wonderment and adrenaline, Costa Rica will leave you in awe of its beautiful landscape, warm hearted people and diverse culture and history.
This journey is for people that appreciate different landscapes, are ready for a bit of surprises, and can cater for activities ranging from light to moderate levels with extended periods of hiking, roaming around and swimming.
As for the accommodation, we will be staying in a mixture of ideally located hotels, lodges, and villas along the way. It’s a road trip so expect a change of location every two days.
One thing not to forget, you will get to experience living in rural communities for a night or two, so back to basics!

Trip Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival Day in San Jose
Hola & Welcome to Costa Rica!
Upon arrival, our guides will greet you at the airport. Let’s check in and get a bit of rest at the hotel.
Just before sunset, we’ll start exploring San Jose with our local friend. You will have the chance to discover it’s unique architecture, know it’s history and culture, and enjoy traditional food in central markets.
Day 2 & 3
La Fortuna & Arenal Region
As we leave San Jose, have your playlist ready as we drive to the central part of Costa Rica to spend the next two nights.
Get ready for mix of activities, between safari float, waterfalls and volcanos hikes.
Starting from the calm rivers of the Penas Blancas, you will float smoothly as you try to spot tropical animals that sit on the banks. Next, we will head to the La Fortuna Waterfall, walk down a flight of 500 stairs and jump into the cold pool at the waterfall’s base.
Lunch will be served at a local family for a typical Costa Rican food, before we head to hike through the Arenal Volcano National Park, ending our day with hot springs dip.
Day 4 & 5
Monteverde Cloud Forests Region
Next up is Monteverde region, home of some of Costa Rica’s most famous cloud forests!
A cloud forest is technically a rainforest at a high altitude, which means we are driving into the mountains!
We will discover the forest area through ziplining, suspension bridges and taking many scenic hiking and canyon trails along the way. Add this to exploring chocolate forests and visiting family run sugar cane farms, you will have seen the region through the locals by now, and possibly envisioning owning a farm one day here!
Day 6 & 7
A rural life style – Home Stay
Hope you learned a few words in Spanish! Today you will get to know the essence and identity of Costa Ricans.
In a perfect combination of nature and culture, you will discover Costa Rica’s “Pura Vida” lifestyle while enjoying and sharing diverse environments of peace, comfort and communal living with a beautiful family, immersed in a splendid natural diversity.
Get ready to be surprised!
Day 8 & 9
Playa Tamarindo
From Forests and national park we will end our journey in the North pacific coast , on the most beautiful and largest beach of Costa Rica, Tamarindo.
You will have the choice of diving or snorkeling, or maybe surfing?
The next day we will visit the Las Baulas National Marine Park, a protected area that serves as a sanctuary for the sea turtle population.
Day 10
Coffee Farms
What a perfect way of ending our beautiful road trip.
Enjoy a full day at one of Costa Rica’s most popular coffee farms, which also combines a sustainable delightful inn, set in the beautiful mountains of San Jose.
In your stay you will have the chance to learn the intricacies of coffee, taste farm to table local cuisine, and work with farmers to see the full coffee line production.
Day 11
Adios Costa Rica
Time to head back home… Today is your departure day from Costa Rica!
You will have some free time for some last-minute shopping and reminisce about the trip in your last meal together. We will miss you!
