What to expect
This journey is for people who love winter vibes, are ready for drastic changes of scenic landscapes, and can cater for activities that range from light to moderate levels with extended time in cold temperatures.
Expect the days to be short, as sunset is at 4 pm. This will allow a bigger window to chase the northern lights every night.
As for the accommodation, we will be staying in a mixture of ideally located hotel and comfortable cabin on a cruise ship.

Why Tromso?
Are you prepared for the beginning of your Arctic journey? In this trip You will get to follow the northern lights with colors and rays that you’ll never see anywhere else.
You’ll always be gazing and in consent amazement by the beauty of the Arora so remember to layer up your clothes to stay warm as you relish in this exceptional journey from breathtaking treks to an exceptional cruise in the Arctic Ocean.
In these regions of Norway, you will also experience a taste of the traditional Sami culture, with ancient traditions like “joik”.
You’ll also get to enjoy the best of winter activities like Snowmobiling and Dog Sledging and get to experience traditional food straight from the artic ocean!
Where will we go in Tromso?
In this trip we’ll be going on a three days cruise through the Arctic Ocean to the Russian Borders. As we cruise in this one-of-a-kind journey through the fjords, we’ll be having 12 stops in total to explore the famous and exotic corners of Tromso.
On the last 2 days we’ll be exploring the city, enjoying winter activities and having dinner under the star light.
How much cash do I need?
For the city days you’ll have to cover your daily expenses, so you will need to cater for lunch and dinner meals. The average meal is around 200 Krona (around $18 USD).
And on the days of the Cruise all your meals will be catered for, but if you’re looking to buy some souvenirs and small gifts on the multi stops during the trip you can get cash for that as well. Having (around $60 USD) daily is enough!
If you don’t prefer to carry a lot of cash, most places are visa or MasterCard friendly.
How’s the weather like?
The average temperature is -4°C, with a low of -10°C, as you go higher on altitude making the weather quite cold. The greatest advice we can give you is to layer up in warm, cozy clothing! On your first days of the hike, it can get warmer.
Do I need a visa to enter?
A Schengen Visa is required for the gulf nationalities except the UAE. Citizens of the US and UK do not need a visa to enter Norway.
Is a certain level of fitness required?
We always recommend people to be fit on our trips as we love to be outdoors and on our feet a lot!
This trip specifically does not require high physical demand.
Will I see the northern lights?
Travelling all the way to Tromso at this season, it’s almost guaranteed that we will be seeing northern lights, hopefully on the daily basis. We of course will not be able to guarantee the weather a 100% but let’s cross our fingers!
What are the main activities during the trip?
Tromso will give you a feeling that you jumped into an Icy new world. As we move around the city, get ready for some snowmobile, dog sledging and a short hike along our stops.
We’ll also be meeting the Sami people and cruising around the arctic ocean to catch the Arora’s spectacular dance show!
What kind of clothes will I need to pack?
Activity friendly, water and wind resistant, and very warm and toasty clothes are recommended for Tromso. You will be moving around a lot and the weather is very cold and windy, so you will need to keep warm. Investing in a high quality thermals and down jacket is highly recommended!
A detailed packing list will be sent as soon as you confirm your registration.
Is it shared accommodation?
Yes, the accommodation will be shared, usually on a twin-share basis. Single occupancy can be requested with an extra charge and will be based on availability.
Where’s the meet up point?
Once you book your tickets, make sure you share it with the journey’s team. Transportation will be arranged from the airport to the hotel.
How will we be moving from one place to the other?
During our stay in the city, we will have private transportation arranged as we explore city streets and get ready for different activities. The rest of the 3 days we’ll be on a cruise stopping in 12 different spots!
